Anticipation and widespread debate have converged around the upcoming cinematic adaptation of 'Ramayana' well ahead of its official theatrical arrival. The production has faced noticeable online pushback concerning key character selections, particularly targeting the casting of Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Sai Pallavi in the role of Sita. Breaking their silence on the continuous discussions and memes, both the lead actor and director Nitesh Tiwari have now shared their perspectives regarding the social media reaction.
Reflections on Social Media Trolling at Student Forum
During an interactive student session, Ranbir Kapoor directly confronted the online ridicule aimed at the film. While attending an event organized by IIMUN, the actor engaged with the audience on the nature of internet commentary. He pointed out that mocking people and running trolling campaigns across digital platforms have simply turned into routine occurrences in modern times. In his view, such behavior is now extremely common and should not be treated as an extraordinary development.
Illustrating his mindset, the actor quoted the classic lyric, "Kuchh to log kahenge, logon ka kaam hai kahna" (people will always talk, it is their nature to say things). He advised that individuals should not become unsettled by public chatter or absorb negative remarks emotionally. According to him, remaining focused on one's own craft is far more important than letting casual internet opinions disrupt one's peace of mind.
Backing from Filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari and Namit Malhotra
Director Nitesh Tiwari firmly aligned with his lead actor, defending the project against unwarranted online criticism. The filmmaker noted that if someone operates with a clear conscience and pours sincere effort and total honesty into their craft, there is little reason to worry about outside voices. He affirmed that his entire creative crew delivered 100 percent of their energy toward shaping the production, leaving no room to feel troubled by exterior noise.
Echoing similar sentiments, Namit Malhotra remarked that observing this continuous trolling now primarily evokes laughter. He observed that in contemporary digital culture, even some of the most accomplished and talented individuals frequently encounter baseless backlash on internet channels.
Grand Two-Part Epic Scheduled for Theatrical Premiere on November 5
Helmed by Nitesh Tiwari, this cinematic rendition of 'Ramayana' has been structured as an ambitious two-part presentation designed on a grand scale. The makers have scheduled the first installment for release on November 5, bringing together an ensemble of prominent performers representing various regional film industries in iconic mythological roles.
Alongside Ranbir Kapoor portraying Lord Ram and Sai Pallavi portraying Sita, the film stars Yash as the antagonist Ravana. The ensemble cast also features Sunny Deol stepping into the role of Hanuman, Ravi Dubey depicting Lakshman, and Arun Govil portraying King Dasharatha. Despite continuous scrutiny on digital forums, the creative unit remains confident in the collective effort invested into bringing this ancient epic to the screen.
