Despite earning mixed reviews from film critics, the action drama drew massive crowds across screening halls, crossing the Rs 200 crore global milestone within its opening four days. However, after a high-octane inaugural weekend, the film experienced its first major slowdown on its fifth day, which marked its first Monday in theaters.
Sharp Drop Registered on First Monday
Compared to its explosive Sunday totals, the daily revenue for Jan Nayagan plummeted by 68.3 percent on Monday. While the feature collected a robust Rs 32 crore domestically on Sunday, the Monday figures contracted down to Rs 10.13 crore. This represents the lowest single-day financial turnout for the project since its theatrical premiere across the country.
Language-Wise Breakdown of Day 5 Figures
Out of the total Rs 10.13 crore earned on day five, the primary Tamil language version led the tally with Rs 8.40 crore. The Hindi-dubbed edition registered Rs 1.20 crore, while the Telugu version chipped in Rs 0.55 crore. With these additions, the film's cumulative net collection across India has comfortably moved past the Rs 134 crore mark.
Global Cumulative Reaches Rs 234 Crore
On the worldwide stage, Jan Nayagan has consolidated its overall revenue to Rs 234 crore. The film began its theatrical run with immense momentum, generating nearly Rs 42 crore in India and approximately Rs 71 crore globally on day one. It sustained solid business over the subsequent days, fetching Rs 21.15 crore on day two, Rs 28.90 crore on day three, and Rs 32 crore on day four before settling at the lower Monday figure.
Makers Announce Inclusion of Deleted Scenes
To sustain audience curiosity through the weekdays and encourage repeat viewings, the team behind the film has revealed a strategic upgrade. Speaking at a success event on Monday, the director of Jan Nayagan announced that six deleted scenes are set to be integrated back into the movie print starting next week, offering fans an expanded theatrical edit.
