Sharing the background of the collaboration, Adnan Sami explained that he approached Amitabh Bachchan while working on his second album 'Tera Chehra'. Although the actor deeply appreciated the tracks, he initially hesitated when asked to lend his voice to the song. Expressing surprise, the legendary actor remarked that he does not sing professionally, jokingly calling himself a bathroom singer and expressing concern that performing the track would be too difficult for him.
Recording Without Headphones In The Studio
To encourage him, Adnan Sami reminded the actor of his memorable songs from classic films like 'Mr. Natwarlal' and 'Silsila'. Convinced after reviewing the track, Amitabh Bachchan took it home to practice. When he finally arrived at the studio, the team prepared him for notes ranging from low tones to high registers, which he executed effortlessly. Sami also recalled how the actor was worried that wearing headphones would kill the natural energy of the performance. Consequently, he opted to record live without headphones, with the microphone wrapped in a cloth to capture the raw vocals.
