Samsung has introduced its latest flagship LED TV for 2026, the Samsung R95H, showcasing a brand-new Micro RGB panel, which is also referred to as RGB Mini LED. Standing alongside the S95H OLED at the pinnacle of the brand's premium lineup, this television aims to push the boundaries of color and brightness. It is powered by the specialized Micro RGB AI Engine Pro processor and ships with the 2026 edition of Tizen OS. TrendKia analyzed the capabilities of this television to see how it performs across daily scenarios. While the series is available in 65-inch, 75-inch, and 85-inch dimensions, this review covers the performance characteristics shared across the models.
Dark Room Performance and Home Cinema Experience
For home theater enthusiasts who prefer watching movies in dark spaces, the Samsung R95H delivers spectacular results. Thanks to highly effective local dimming, the television produces very deep, uniform blacks with virtually no blooming or haloing around bright subtitles and highlight zones. In HDR, highlights look outstandingly punchy, backed by an exceptional color volume that brings out rich, vivid shades. However, out-of-the-box color accuracy is poor, giving the entire image a noticeable blue tint before calibration. Additionally, heavily saturated colors can sometimes bleed into neighboring white areas, giving whites a slight tint from the surrounding environment.
Bright Room Viewing, Sports, and Viewing Angles
This television is an absolute champion for bright living rooms. Its combination of class-leading peak brightness in both SDR and HDR with top-tier reflection handling means you can watch TV in direct sunlight without being bothered by glare. For sports fans, this means Sunday football is clear and vibrant, further aided by superb upscaling that cleans up low-quality cable feeds. The viewing angle is wide enough to support group viewing without a drastic drop in picture quality, though keen viewers might notice that the four corners of the screen appear slightly dimmer than the center.
Gaming Features and Motion Performance
Gamers will appreciate that the Samsung R95H comes equipped with four HDMI 2.1 ports, supporting high refresh rates up to 4k @ 165Hz or 1080p @ 240Hz, alongside complete VRR compatibility to prevent screen tearing. While its input lag is marginally higher than some direct competitors, the gaming experience still feels snappy and responsive. The main drawback for gaming, however, is its slow pixel response time, which causes noticeable motion blur during fast-paced games. On the positive side, movie lovers will face no micro-judder issues, and slow-panning shots remain remarkably smooth with very little stutter.
Image Processing and Audio Format Limits
The processing power of the Micro RGB AI Engine Pro shows in the television's exceptional gradient handling, minimizing color banding across complex scenes. The unit tracks the PQ EOTF curve accurately to preserve intended brightness levels in HDR content. On the audio and HDR format side, the TV supports all primary Dolby audio formats and HDR10+, but it lacks support for DTS audio formats and Dolby Vision.
