A suspicious death of a 20-year-old woman named Priyanka in Gurana village under Hansi district has led to police intervention after her family buried her body. Acting on a formal complaint, the police exhumed the body on Monday evening, roughly 24 hours after the burial. The Narnaund police station team carried out the procedure in the presence of forensic experts and a duty magistrate. The remains have been sent for an autopsy, and the exact cause of death is expected to be clarified on Tuesday once the report is finalized.
The victim had left home earlier
According to available details, Priyanka had left her house on September 9 and returned home two days later on September 11. Following her return, she passed away on Sunday. Her sudden death triggered intense speculation and rumors throughout the village. Amid these discussions, an individual approached the police with a complaint, detailing the suspicious nature of the death and the subsequent burial of the body without proper verification.
Body exhumed before the duty magistrate
Following the complaint, the Narnaund police reached the village on Monday. Khurshid Ahmed, the Naib Tehsildar of Hansi, was appointed as the duty magistrate for the procedure. Under his supervision, Priyanka's body was dug up from the graveyard on Monday evening. Forensic experts gathered necessary physical evidence from the site. A strong police contingent remained deployed at the location to handle any potential law and order situation.
Autopsy report will reveal the cause
Duty magistrate Khurshid Ahmed stated that he was assigned to the location following reports of the suspicious death. The body was successfully exhumed and forwarded for a post-mortem examination. Authorities reiterated that the definitive cause of death will only be established on Tuesday upon receiving the official autopsy findings.
