He declared that if the long-pending demands of the Maratha community are not addressed by September 12, community members will march toward Mumbai. Detailing the strategy, Jarange appealed to the Maratha community across Maharashtra and specifically in Mumbai to ensure that ordinary citizens do not face inconvenience due to the protests. He emphasized that the atmosphere in Mumbai should be shaped in a way that makes people realize the community was forced to travel to the financial capital because the administration failed to resolve their grievances in a timely manner.

Reiterating the core demands, Jarange maintained that a durable and permanent reservation for the Maratha community is achievable only through the Kunbi framework. He stressed the need to strongly pursue issues related to SEBC, EWS, Sarthi, and Kunbi government resolutions. Issuing clear instructions to his supporters, he stated that the agitation must remain strictly peaceful and warned that acts of arson or stone-pelting will not be tolerated under his watch.
Announcement of Mumbai Protest Date and Strategy on September 12
Manoj Jarange Patil announced that representatives and community members from various regions of Maharashtra will gather to finalize the specific date for the Mumbai agitation and outline the subsequent strategy on September 12. Granting a 15-day window to the government, he stated that if the issues remain unresolved, he will neither be able to bring the Marathas back nor return himself. He also informed that starting from August 29 until September 12, supporters will gather daily at the protest site morning and evening to intensify pressure on authorities.
Strategy to Surround Mumbai and Logistics for Supporters
Urging his supporters to arrive in large numbers, Jarange noted that if the situation demands it, a strategy to encircle Mumbai from all sides will be implemented. He spoke about reaching the city accompanied by massive motorcycle rallies. Additionally, he appealed to the Maratha community residing in Mumbai to arrange food, water, and essential logistics to support the arriving demonstrators.
Concerns Over Protests Coinciding With Ganeshotsav Celebrations
This unfolding movement has raised significant administrative questions, particularly given that the 11-day Ganeshotsav festival in Maharashtra begins on September 14. An influx of thousands of protesters into Mumbai during the festival period could severely disrupt urban life and festive celebrations. Earlier on August 26, Jarange had warned that staging protests in Mumbai could disrupt both train networks and flight operations.
