Construction work on a grand cable-stayed bridge is advancing at a fast pace over the historic Mir Alam Tank. Once completed, this ambitious venture will not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of the historic locality but also emerge as a prominent infrastructure and tourism landmark in Hyderabad.
An Estimated Cost of 320 Crore Rupees and Direct Connectivity
Being developed at an estimated cost of nearly 320 crore rupees, the primary objective of this mega project is to establish a direct link between the Bangalore National Highway and the Chintalmet region. Commuters currently face severe traffic congestion issues on congested legacy routes. The opening of this cable bridge will save valuable time for motorists traveling in both directions and significantly reduce vehicle pressure on key thoroughfares of the old city.
Forty Percent Construction Complete With 26 Pillars Ready
Designed with exceptional engineering standards, the total length of this cable-supported bridge has been set at 2.24 kilometers. Reviewing the progress of construction, out of a total of 59 pillars planned for the project, the structural work for 26 pillars has been fully completed. According to the engineering team, roughly 40 percent of the entire project has been accomplished. Heavy advanced machinery along with a team of around 250 skilled workers and engineers are working round the clock to accelerate the pace.
Executed Under MRDCL Oversight With a 24 Month Deadline
The entire project is being executed under the direct supervision of the Musi Riverfront Development Corporation Limited within the state municipal framework. The construction contract has been awarded through the EPC mode to the well-known KNR Constructions. Project officials state that keeping quality in mind, the entire project is targeted for completion and dedication to the public within the fixed timeframe of the next 24 months.
