A horrifying crime has come to light in the Vikas Nagar locality along Pakhowal Road in Ludhiana, where 49-year-old Kamaldeep Kaur was murdered inside her own bedroom after being repeatedly stabbed with a knife. Kaur had arrived back in Punjab from Australia just four days prior to the incident. Family members immediately rushed her in critical condition to Deep Hospital, but attending doctors declared her dead upon arrival. The brutal killing has triggered deep shock and panic across the neighborhood.
Son Sent Out on Errand Before the Fatal Attack
The victim's son, Gagandeep Singh, directly accused his father, Ravinder Singh, of orchestrating and executing the murder. According to Gagandeep, his father had also been residing in Australia for approximately six months, and Gagandeep had personally picked him up from Amritsar Airport just two days earlier. On Saturday evening, Ravinder sent Gagandeep out of the house under the pretext of purchasing some household supplies. When Gagandeep returned, his father was unlocking the front door from the inside, and his mother was lying motionless in a pool of blood on the floor.
Gagandeep revealed that his father routinely harbored suspicions against his mother, which frequently triggered disputes and bitter arguments between the couple. He also claimed that immediately after committing the assault, the accused washed the blood-soaked kitchen knife at the sink. Gagandeep stated that the timing and nature of the act point toward a calculated and pre-planned conspiracy to catch his mother alone without any intervention.
Neighbor Raised Alarm After Hearing Frantic Cries
A neighbor named Narinder Kaur recounted that she was walking home after visiting the local gurdwara when she noticed the main entrance gate standing open. She called out Kamaldeep Kaur's name from outside, only to instantly hear desperate screaming and weeping from inside the residence. Upon entering the house, she discovered the victim lying covered in blood on the bedroom floor. Narinder Kaur immediately raised an alarm, alerting nearby residents who gathered at the spot to assist the family and contact authorities.
Multiple Wounds on Torso, Police Take Accused Into Custody
Police officers were dispatched to the crime scene following distress calls to initiate forensic examinations and gather statements. Dugri Police Station SHO Gurmukh Singh confirmed that the victim sustained multiple severe knife wounds across her back and abdomen, resulting in fatal trauma and extensive hemorrhaging. Law enforcement personnel swiftly arrested the husband, Ravinder Singh. Investigators are currently questioning the suspect to establish the exact sequence of events, verify the nature of the marital discord, and determine what drove the argument to such extreme violence.
