A brutal murder has come to light following the disappearance of 22-year-old Albina Garada from Koraput district in Odisha. To conceal the crime, her body was transported across the border and buried underground in Vizianagaram district of neighboring Andhra Pradesh. Law enforcement officers have arrested two individuals, including primary accused Mohan Khilla and his associate Milan Kuldeep. Initial investigations indicate that domestic disputes and complex personal relationships led to the fatal crime.
Missing Complaint Triggers Investigation
Albina Garada was a resident of Tunkhal village in the Dasamantapur block of Koraput district. She went missing from Semiliguda on July 29 under suspicious circumstances. On August 1, 35-year-old Mohan Khilla, a resident of Kakigao in Sunabeda, approached the Semiliguda police station to lodge a missing person report. However, as officers began probing the case, inconsistencies in his statement raised suspicion of foul play. Police subsequently detained Mohan Khilla along with 19-year-old Milan Kuldeep, a resident of the Gurudwara area in Semiliguda, for detailed interrogation.
Joint Search Operation Across Border and Recovery
Sustained interrogation yielded vital leads regarding the concealment of the victim's body. Armed with this information, the Semiliguda police joined forces with the Andhra Pradesh police to launch a targeted search operation in the Gajapathinagaram area of Vizianagaram district. Near Marupalli village, authorities uncovered the partially decomposed body of Albina Garada buried beneath a tree. Inquest proceedings were completed on site in the presence of an Executive Magistrate, family members, and witnesses, where her father positively identified the remains using her clothing.
Forensic Sampling, Vehicle Seizure, and Scientific Evidence
Following procedural formalities, the body was dispatched for a post-mortem examination. Police also secured biological samples for DNA testing to establish identity through scientific verification. Investigating personnel seized a car believed to have been used to transport the victim across state lines. In addition, digging implements used to bury the corpse, the personal mobile phones of the accused, their clothes, and vital scientific evidence were confiscated for expert examination.
Complex Relationships and Judicial Custody
Police inquiries revealed that 35-year-old Mohan Khilla was already married to two wives while maintaining a relationship with Albina Garada. Escalating domestic friction and relationship conflicts prompted Mohan to commit the murder, taking the assistance of 19-year-old Milan Kuldeep to dispose of the body in Andhra Pradesh. Both accused were produced before the court and subsequently remanded to judicial custody as law enforcement continues to gather further evidence in the case.
