Reassuring young innovators, he highlighted the establishment of a dedicated Rs 1 lakh crore government fund aimed at supporting startup ventures. Urging the youth to dream big and take bold initiatives, he pledged that no aspiring entrepreneur would face a shortage of financial resources or institutional support.
Semiconductor Manufacturing Expansion and 100 GW Nuclear Energy Target
Addressing technological self-reliance and energy security, Prime Minister Narendra Modi outlined strategic targets for high-tech manufacturing and clean power infrastructure. To strengthen domestic electronics manufacturing and reduce import reliance, the government aims to operationalize 7 to 8 new semiconductor plants over the next 1 to 2 years. In the energy sector, India has set a long-term target of expanding its nuclear power generation capacity to 100 GW by the year 2047. As an immediate milestone towards this vision, the government plans to commission 5 new nuclear reactors within the next 6 to 7 years.
Civil Defense Modernization and Nationwide Sports Talent Discovery
In response to evolving national security requirements, the address included plans to modernize civil defense training methodologies and operational capacity across the country. Additionally, to foster athletic talent from an early age, a nationwide sports talent discovery drive will be launched targeting children aged 5 to 15 years in both rural villages and urban centers.
