Shiv Sena UBT leader Uddhav Thackeray, accompanied by his family members, arrived at 'Shivtirth', the Dadar residence of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray, to participate in Ganeshotsav rituals. The visit brought both families together for traditional prayers and prasad distribution, reflecting their long-standing personal bond despite political differences.
Ganeshotsav Gatherings At Shivtirth
Uddhav Thackeray was accompanied by his wife Rashmi Thackeray and his son during the visit. Upon arriving at the Dadar residence, they were received warmly by MNS chief Raj Thackeray and his family. The members of both households took part in the traditional Aarti in front of the idol of Lord Ganesha, offered prayers, and shared prasad. Witnesses described the interaction as cordial, with family members and relatives interacting warmth throughout the festive gathering.
Timing Of The Visit And CBI FIR Details
The family meeting drew heightened public attention as it occurred on the same day the Central Bureau of Investigation registered an FIR in the Disha Salian case. The FIR officially lists 21 individuals, including Uddhav Thackeray and his son Aaditya Thackeray. Investigators have registered charges including gang rape and murder in connection with the death of Disha Salian, who was the former manager of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The matter had previously been categorized by authorities as a suicide, making the fresh filing a significant procedural development.
Political Differences Versus Family Tradition
Though cousins Uddhav and Raj Thackeray maintain distinct political ideologies and lead competing political organizations, they have consistently kept domestic gatherings separate from public political disagreements. Participating in annual Ganeshotsav celebrations at Shivtirth remains an established tradition for the Thackeray family. Video footage from the event circulated widely across social media platforms, sparking diverse commentary from online observers.
