The political atmosphere in Uttar Pradesh heated up as Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati launched a fierce attack on Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav. The sharp reaction came after Akhilesh Yadav made provocative remarks regarding Rashtriya Lok Dal chief and Union Minister Jayant Chaudhary. Akhilesh Yadav had targeted Jayant Chaudhary by stating that they had elevated him from a quarter rupee to a full rupee. This statement triggered intense political reactions, prompting Mayawati to corner the SP leadership.
Sharp Attacks On Social Media
Mayawati took to the social media platform X to post a series of statements targeting Akhilesh Yadav. She termed the remarks made by the SP chief as completely unparliamentary, indecent, and shameful. The BSP supremo stated unequivocally that for such statements, Akhilesh Yadav must apologize not only to the concerned party and its leader but also to the family of Chaudhary Singh and specifically to the Jat community.
Raising Questions On Past Alliances
In her statements, Mayawati also raised serious questions about the political history of the Samajwadi Party and its approach to coalition politics. She accused the party of maintaining a narrow, unreliable, and selfish attitude not just toward its opponents, but even toward its allies. She pointed out that due to this very nature of the SP, alliances have never lasted for long, which has frequently allowed the Bharatiya Janata Party to reap political and electoral benefits while weakening secular forces.
Recalling past political events, Mayawati mentioned that due to this arrogant behavior, the alliance formed between Mulayam Singh Yadav and the BSP back in 1993 broke down quickly, culminating in the infamous Lucknow State Guest House incident on June 2, 1995, which she described as a conspiracy against her. Later, Akhilesh Yadav assured that he would not repeat his father's old mistakes, leading to a Lok Sabha electoral alliance. However, when election results did not match expectations, the alliance broke down again due to the arrogant and selfish attitude toward the BSP. She emphasized that the party of Babasaheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar can never deviate from its core ideology of serving all sections of society.
Accusations Of Changing Colors Like A Chameleon
Accusing the SP of being selfish regarding alliances, Mayawati wrote that the party only knows how to serve its own interests, and once its work is done, it changes colors like a chameleon and freely uses abusive language against other parties. She stated that this behavior is typical of the SP, and urged people across all communities to remain cautious of the party's narrow and casteist politics.
Criticism Of PDA Formula
Mayawati further stated that it is an open secret that Akhilesh Yadav changes the definition of P in his PDA formula according to his political convenience, sometimes calling it backward classes and other times claiming it benefits pundits. She asserted that the reality is that the SP has never genuinely cared for backward classes outside its own caste, minorities, or upper castes, especially the Brahmin community.
