The Bharatiya Janata Party is preparing to launch a comprehensive nationwide campaign through the month of November to counter opposition rallies and political pressure. As part of this extensive outreach, foot marches or padyatras will be organized across the country from November 1 to November 30. These events will witness active participation from union ministers and chief ministers belonging to BJP-ruled states. Senior leadership will spearhead the campaign, with Union Home Minister Amit Shah slated to participate directly in scheduled marches.
Top Leadership Schedule and Key Dates
According to the party itinerary, Amit Shah will join a foot march in Hyderabad on November 2 and another in Haryana on November 5. The timing of this nationwide campaign holds high political significance as it immediately follows a major public rally organized by the Congress party against alleged vote tampering at Delhi Ramlila Maidan on November 1. Additionally, the Sikh community has planned separate events on November 1. Political observers view the proposed BJP marches as a direct counter-strategy to the opposition political activities lined up during the same period.
Sharp Attacks from Telangana BJP Leadership
Addressing reporters in Hyderabad, Telangana BJP President N. Ramchander Rao accused the Congress party of attempting to trigger chaos and disorder both at the national level and within the state. He announced that the party is organizing a foot march under the theme 'Save Democracy – Eradicate Anarchy' to push back against these efforts, confirming that Amit Shah will take part in the event on November 2. Rao also criticized Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge over remarks directed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that the opposition party remains unable to digest the reality of a tea vendor rising to lead the nation.
Electoral Defeats and Protests
Targeting the opposition further, the state BJP chief claimed that since suffering electoral defeats starting in 2014, Congress has grown desperate to regain power by any means necessary. He directed party cadres across all district headquarters in Telangana to burn effigies of Congress in protest against Kharge remarks. He asserted that the opposition is manufacturing false narratives regarding political developments to regain lost ground.
Addressing Voter List Revision and SIR Concerns
Responding to opposition claims regarding the special intensive revision of electoral rolls, Rao dismissed all allegations of arbitrary deletions as falsehoods spread for political gains. He issued an open challenge to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, stating he is ready to visit the chief minister native village of Kondareddypalle to independently verify how many names were actually removed from the voter list. He emphasized that if any genuine voter name is dropped during the revision process, legal provisions exist to restore it, ensuring that no legitimate citizen loses their voting right.
Clarifying the ASDD Categories
Addressing opposition allegations that 13 million or 13 crore voters have been removed during the SIR process, Rao explained that such entries fall strictly under the category of absent, shifted, dead, and duplicate voters, commonly classified as ASDD. Providing a breakdown of the numbers, he claimed that out of the total figures, 2.8 million individuals have passed away, three million people were untraceable when booth level officers visited their registered addresses, 6.3 million people permanently migrated elsewhere, and roughly one million entries were duplicate registrations spanning multiple locations.
Individual Cases and Challenge to State Ministers
To substantiate the claims, the BJP leader cited the specific case of an individual in Hyderabad who openly admitted to casting votes across three different locations. Concluding his remarks, Rao challenged the ministers in the Telangana government to present at least 10 individuals whose votes were wrongly deleted and publicly explain the exact reasons behind the removal of those entries.
