A deeply tragic incident unfolded in the Masuda police station jurisdiction of Rajasthan's Ajmer district, where two young siblings who had been missing for two days were discovered dead in a village pond. The heart-wrenching discovery has plunged the entire village of Dedpura into profound shock and left the grieving family completely shattered. Children went missing during festive celebrations
According to available details, Pyari Devi, wife of Shankarsingh from Jivana, had traveled to Dedpura village along with her seven-year-old daughter Rina Kumari and son Narendra Singh to celebrate the festival of Raksha Bandhan. On August 28 at around 1 PM, both children suddenly disappeared while playing near their home. When family members failed to locate them after an extensive initial search, they formally reported the disappearance to the Masuda police station.
Intensive search operation lasted for forty-eight hours
Following the disappearance, law enforcement personnel and family members spent the past 48 hours continuously combing the surrounding area and nearby forested patches. Ramgarh outpost in charge Omprakash stated that the police team conducted an intensive search operation for two consecutive days. On the morning of Sunday, August 30, when family members and villagers were searching near the local water body, the bodies of both children were spotted floating on the surface.
Post-mortem conducted before handing over bodies
Upon learning of the development, the Masuda police station team rushed to the location and, with the cooperation of villagers, pulled the bodies out of the pond and transported them to the Masuda sub-district hospital. After completing the legal formalities of the post-mortem examination at the mortuary, the bodies were handed over to the relatives.
