Out of the nine municipal boards in the district, results were settled for eight chairman seats, and the BJP managed to secure power in seven of them. In the Uniara municipality, Congress candidate Naresh Gurjar registered a clear win in the presidential balloting. Gurjar gathered 12 votes against 8 secured by BJP rival Abhay Singh, allowing Congress to establish its board without complication. A contrasting outcome unfolded in Diggi, where BJP nominee Arvind Sharma took the chairman chair by securing 15 votes. Congress candidate Karamchand Meena finished with 10 votes, cementing an outright victory for the BJP board.
Surprise Upset in Niwai and Victory in Lambaharisingh
The election in Niwai produced the biggest political surprise of the civic polls. Out of 40 municipal wards, Congress held a numerical advantage with 19 seats compared to 18 held by the BJP. However, cross-voting in the secret ballot completely altered the expected outcome. BJP nominee Narendra Sharma defeated Congress candidate Rekha Jain by a narrow margin of two votes to claim the municipal presidency. In Lambaharisingh, the BJP established clear dominance as Sonia Soni defeated the Congress nominee by a margin of 8 votes. The winning BJP camp drew 14 votes against 6 for Congress, prompting celebratory fireworks from party workers in the town.
Results Across Todaraisingh, Deoli, Peeplu, and Dooni
In Todaraisingh, BJP candidate Sant Kumar Jain registered a sweeping triumph. Returning Officer Jayant Kumar formally announced Jain the winner after he secured 28 votes compared to just 7 polled by Congress rival Satyanarayan Saini. Deoli witnessed another lopsided verdict where BJP candidate Kajodi Devi received 24 votes, defeating Congress nominee Banwari Bairwa, who stood at 11 votes, by a decisive 13-vote cushion. In Peeplu, BJP nominee Ramesh Verma triumphed with 13 votes over Congress contender Pankaj Bairwa, who gathered 7 votes, marking a six-vote margin of victory. Finally, the contest in Dooni came down to the wire as BJP candidate Archana Balai clinched the post with 10 votes against 9 secured by her Congress opponent, taking the municipality by a single vote.
