Religious and political issues have taken center stage amidst the ongoing local body elections in Rajasthan. Hawa Mahal MLA and BJP leader Balmukund Acharya has strongly criticized AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi over his recent visit to Jaipur and the ongoing Saharanpur mosque controversy. Speaking to the media at the state BJP headquarters, Acharya leveled serious allegations against Owaisi.
Targeting the Jaipur Visit
Acharya stated that he had no prior information about why Owaisi came to Jaipur, but alleged that the primary objective of such leaders is to politically influence a specific community. He accused them of trying to spread volatility in the atmosphere by raising sensitive topics during election season. However, he maintained that the people of Rajasthan are intelligent and such political tactics will yield no benefits here.
Continuing his attack, the Hawa Mahal legislator asserted that politicians like Owaisi constantly attempt to rally a particular social group around themselves. He alleged that individuals living within the country while aligning with anti-national forces only know how to stoke fires. Acharya emphasized that such maneuvers will not be allowed to succeed in Rajasthan, as the public wants to move forward with development and social harmony. He reiterated that attempts to heat up the political climate through religious disputes during elections will fail because local residents understand these tactics.
Remarks on the Saharanpur Mosque Dispute
Addressing the Saharanpur mosque controversy, Balmukund Acharya remarked that disputes involving religious sites cannot be resolved through political rhetoric. He explained that such matters require examining official departments, paperwork, and concrete evidence, followed by judicial proceedings when necessary. Citing the Ayodhya dispute as an example, he noted how the Ram Mandir issue progressed through the legal system and how construction became possible only after the court verdict. He stressed that adherence to law and court procedures must be maintained in all cases related to religious sites.
Confident Claims Regarding Civic Polls
Alongside his statements on religious matters, Acharya expressed strong confidence in the Bharatiya Janata Party's prospects in the upcoming civic elections. He boldly predicted that the BJP would win 11 out of the 15 wards in the Hawa Mahal assembly constituency. Highlighting that the lotus symbol is the party's true face, he noted immense enthusiasm among both party workers and the general public. Furthermore, he projected that the BJP could secure between 125 and 130 seats in the Jaipur Municipal Corporation.
Acharya concluded that party workers are fully mobilized on the ground and voters are backing the party. His remarks come at a time when political parties are making vigorous efforts to reach out to voters amid an already charged atmosphere, with the BJP leadership expressing full confidence in both its electoral prospects and the public's focus on development over manufactured tensions.
