The Rajasthan High Court has taken a decisive stand in a high-stakes land dispute involving government property valued at approximately Rs 100 crore under the Ahor Municipal Corporation in Jalore district. The court has stayed the execution of its previously passed orders in this case until the next hearing, while also completely prohibiting the sale, transfer, and mutation of the disputed land. Expressing strong displeasure over allegations that government land was illegally registered in favor of a private individual without competent administrative approval, the High Court criticized the lack of effective representation by the government counsel. To fix accountability, the court has summoned several key officials, including the Tehsildar, the government lawyer, and the then Ahor Sarpanch.
Allegations of Unauthorized Registry and Ineffective Advocacy
The controversy centers on a valuable piece of public land within the Ahor municipal boundaries that was allegedly registered in the name of a private party without obtaining mandatory permissions from competent authorities. During the proceedings, the High Court expressed deep dissatisfaction with how the government's legal team defended public assets in court. Taking serious note of the claims that adequate efforts were not made to safeguard public land, the High Court issued notices to the Bar Council as well as the concerned advocates who represented the government, demanding a formal response regarding their conduct during the litigation.
Interim Stay on November 3, 2025 Order and Land Transfers
As part of its major intervention, the High Court ordered a complete stay on the implementation of its prior order issued on November 3, 2025. Furthermore, the court placed an immediate freeze on all sale deeds, mutations, and ownership transfers related to the Rs 100 crore property. This judicial freeze ensures that no further legal or physical changes regarding the title of the property can occur until the court completes its review during the upcoming hearing. The decision effectively prevents any attempts to alienate or monetize the public land pending a final judicial determination.
Key Evidence Submitted by Social Worker Roop Rajpurohit
The case reached a crucial turning point after Shiv Sena UBT district chief and social worker Roop Rajpurohit submitted detailed records and crucial documentation directly before the Rajasthan High Court. Upon examining these documents, the court acknowledged the gravity of the potential irregularities in the land deal and acted swiftly by issuing summons to the responsible officials and involved parties. The documentation exposed how public property was being compromised and highlighted the alleged failure of administrative oversight in protecting municipal land assets in Jalore.
Calls for Administrative Accountability and Next Hearing
Following the High Court's intervention, Shiv Sena UBT district chief Roop Rajpurohit held a press conference to inform the public and media about the case developments. He emphasized that the primary responsibility for preserving and protecting public land rests squarely with the local administration and the state government. Rajpurohit asserted that if regulatory norms were bypassed to benefit private entities, strict accountability must be established against all responsible personnel. He welcomed the High Court's directive as a vital victory for public interest. Attention now turns to the next court hearing, where the summoned Tehsildar, former Sarpanch, and legal representatives are scheduled to submit their responses before the bench.
