A tragic road collision on the Ambala-Paniyala highway in Kotputli has claimed the life of a police officer engaged in routine surveillance. Head Constable Naveen Kumar, who was deployed on highway patrolling duty, was run over by a reckless and uncontrolled truck near Delhi Public School. The collision was severe enough that the officer succumbed to his catastrophic injuries on the spot before medical intervention could arrive, prompting immediate panic along the transit route.
Top Officials Inspect Scene and Send Body to Mortuary
Immediately following the emergency alert, senior police officers, including the Superintendent of Police, rushed to the site to inspect the incident area and oversee procedural actions. Investigative teams surveyed the stretch to gather initial evidence and secure vehicular movement. The body of the deceased head constable was subsequently moved to the hospital mortuary for post-mortem protocols. The sudden demise of the on-duty personnel triggered widespread grief across the regional police establishment.
Police Barricades Intercept Fleeing Truck, Driver Arrested
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajendra Budark, law enforcement teams reacted quickly to prevent the offending vehicle from escaping the jurisdiction. Checkpoints and road barricades were set up across nearby junctions, successfully stopping the heavy vehicle. Officials seized the truck and arrested the driver on the spot. Decade-Long Service in Rajasthan Police
Head Constable Naveen Kumar was a native of Khetri, situated in the Jhunjhunu district. He originally joined the ranks of the Rajasthan Police in 2013 and had built an active service career over the past decade. For the past approximately 2 years, he had been posted at the Paniyala police station carrying out regular duties. He is survived by his two-and-a-half-year-old daughter and a brother. His untimely demise while serving on highway duty has cast a heavy pall of sorrow over his family and colleagues.
