The revered Shri Mahalakshmi Temple situated at Bhatiyani Chauhatta in Udaipur witnessed extraordinary religious fervor on Diwali as Goddess Lakshmi was adorned in magnificent festive attire. Devotees gathered in large numbers starting early in the morning to catch a glimpse of the deity. The central highlight of this year's celebrations was the majestic royal attire of the goddess paired with an intricate arrangement of natural sacred blossoms.
Saffron Saree Crafted With Fine Gold and Silver Embroidery
For this festive occasion, the temple administration arranged an exquisitely designed saffron saree for the deity, valued at approximately Rs 3.50 lakh. The garment stands out due to its detailed craftsmanship, featuring elaborate ornamentation created using pure gold and silver wire work. The shimmering metallic motifs set against the deep saffron fabric lent a resplendent glow to the sanctum, drawing admiration and devotion from thousands of visiting pilgrims.
Sacred Garlands and Ornaments Featuring 125 Lotus Blossoms
Alongside the lavish royal apparel, the floral decor served as a visual tribute to traditional iconography. Exactly 125 freshly harvested lotus blossoms were curated to ornament the deity's sanctum and altar. The entire complex was also illuminated and decorated with festive embellishments to welcome the festive season. The sight of Goddess Lakshmi seated amidst the sacred lotus blooms created an awe-inspiring ambiance for the visiting crowd.
Extended Darshan Hours and Evening Maha Aarti Details
To accommodate the heavy influx of visitors throughout the festival, the temple trust put in place comprehensive queue management and viewing arrangements. On the day of Diwali, the sanctum gates opened at 4:30 AM and will remain accessible to the public until 1:00 AM late into the night. Additionally, the grand Diwali Maha Aarti was scheduled for 7:00 PM, drawing a packed congregation of worshippers to participate in the ceremonial prayers.
Festivities Extend to Annakoot Celebrations Across Five Days
The spiritual celebrations at the shrine will extend well beyond Diwali day. Considering the expected continuation of heavy footfall, identical darshan logistics will remain active on 9 November. Following that, on 10 November, the shrine will observe the customary Annakoot Mahotsav, featuring an evening aarti at 5:00 PM and darshan hours extending up to 11:00 PM.
