India's marquee volleyball tournament is moving west for its fifth chapter, with top-tier action scheduled to commence at Veer Savarkar Sports Complex in Ahmedabad on November 30. Ever since its inception, the league has rotated its host venues across different cities to cultivate and broaden a dedicated fan base across the country.
Global Body Sanction and Leadership Vision
Earlier this calendar year, the tournament achieved a notable administrative benchmark when the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) granted official recognition to Prime Volleyball League as India's premier tier-one professional volleyball championship. Highlighting the expansion push, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Joy Bhattacharjya noted that staging the upcoming fifth edition in Ahmedabad marks an essential milestone toward scaling professional volleyball nationally.
Roster of Contenders
A pool of 10 clubs will take the court to dispute the crown. Defending titleholders Bengaluru Torpedoes will aim to protect their standing against a packed lineup comprising Ahmedabad Defenders, Calicut Heroes, Chennai Blitz, Delhi Toofans, Goa Guardians, Kochi Blue Spikers, Kolkata Thunderbolts, Mumbai Meteors, and Telugu Black Hawks.
