Satyapal, a young entrepreneur from the Tarabganj development block in the Gonda district of Uttar Pradesh, has carved out a successful path in the iron manufacturing sector with government assistance. By securing financial support through a bank loan under the Khadi and Village Industries scheme, he laid the foundation of his enterprise. What began as a modest small-scale venture has now expanded rapidly, yielding handsome profits and creating job opportunities for others.
Starting the Business With a Government-Backed Loan
Sharing details about his journey, Satyapal explained that when he initially planned to set up his own enterprise, he lacked sufficient capital. To overcome this financial hurdle, he availed a bank loan of 6 lakh rupees under the Khadi and Village Industries scheme. He utilized these funds to purchase essential machinery and commenced manufacturing items such as iron gates, railings, grills, and shutters. He noted that he has already cleared the entire loan amount. Currently, his business operates entirely on his own capital and generates a robust income.
Extensive Experience and Family Background
Regarding his educational background, Satyapal mentioned that he has studied up to the eighth grade. His father was also involved in building construction work. Watching his father work up close helped him learn the intricate techniques associated with ironwork. Following this, he worked for nearly 12 years at Punjab Engineering located in Ragarganj, Gonda. After spending years in employment, he decided to branch out on his own. He launched his independent venture roughly 7 to 8 years ago, which is currently operated under the name Delhi Engineering.
Customized Iron Products for Every Need
At Satyapal's workshop, a variety of iron products including gates, channels, shutters, and grills are manufactured for homes and commercial shops. Customers can place orders by sharing their preferred designs and specific requirements. Since Satyapal is a skilled artisan himself, he ensures that the products are crafted precisely according to customer needs. In the initial phase, he received very few orders, but gradually customer trust grew. As a result, he now receives regular orders not only from Gonda but also from neighboring districts.
Providing Employment to Locals
Alongside generating a stable and good income for himself, Satyapal has also become a source of livelihood for others. Around 5 to 6 people are employed at his workshop, working alongside him to fulfill orders. This expansion has allowed him to support multiple families while growing his own enterprise.
Ambitions to Build a Recognized Brand
Looking ahead, Satyapal shared his aspirations to scale up his business further. He is currently working on plans to transform his venture into a recognized brand so that his manufactured goods gain widespread prominence. Offering a word of encouragement to the youth, he urged them to take advantage of various government welfare schemes. He emphasized that if someone lacks the initial capital to start a business, they can easily secure a loan through government initiatives. Through hard work and the right direction, anyone can successfully establish their own livelihood.
