Vidit Sonakhiya, a resident of Chhatarpur, achieved a remarkable milestone in the medical field through sheer determination and perseverance. His lifelong ambition was to become a skilled orthopedic surgeon, even though there was no medical background in his entire family. He completed his schooling locally in Chhatarpur and subsequently navigated a rigorous path to enter the medical profession. Today, he not only serves patients at a prominent hospital but also actively participates in medical camps organized in rural and underserved areas.
Coaching in Kota and Education in Ujjain
After finishing his school education in Chhatarpur, Vidit Sonakhiya moved to Kota in Rajasthan to prepare for medical entrance examinations. He successfully cracked the medical entrance exam on his very first attempt. Following this, he completed his MBBS degree from a medical college in Ujjain. To pursue his specialization, he moved to Uttar Pradesh, where he earned his postgraduate degree in orthopedics. After practicing and treating patients in Uttar Pradesh for two years, he returned to his home region. Currently, he has been practicing at Narmada Care Hospital in Chhatarpur for the past year.
Childhood Inspiration and Dedication to Service
Vidit shares that the aspiration to become a doctor took root in his mind during his childhood. He used to observe health camps organized in his vicinity and watched doctors traveling from far and wide to serve patients. Witnessing their dedication inspired a strong desire in his young mind to become a doctor himself and reach out to remote villages to help the sick. Although he initially had no clear idea about the educational pathway required to become a doctor, his unwavering resolve helped him overcome every hurdle. He was also deeply inspired by an acquaintance who was an orthopedic specialist and whose medical practice served as a constant source of motivation.
Active Participation in Free Health Camps
Beyond his regular professional responsibilities, Vidit Sonakhiya is actively involved in social welfare initiatives. He regularly offers his services at various free health camps organized across the district. Recently, he participated for the first time in a free health camp held in Laundi, where he examined patients free of charge and distributed necessary medicines at no cost. Whenever he receives an invitation to volunteer at a charitable health camp, he makes it a point to attend so that proper medical care reaches those who cannot afford expensive hospital treatments.
Advice for Aspirants and Rising Bone Health Issues
For young individuals aspiring to pursue a career in medicine, Vidit emphasizes that one must cultivate a genuine sense of service toward patients, as this passion is essential to sustain the journey. He suggests deciding on a medical career during school years and beginning NEET UG preparation right after the tenth grade. However, he notes that students no longer strictly need to travel to Kota in Rajasthan for coaching. Addressing health concerns, he points out that while bone-related ailments typically surface after the age of sixty, excessive consumption of steroid medications is now causing bone disorders to appear in people even before they reach that age.
