Xiaomi has kicked off the global deployment of the stable HyperOS 4 operating system. Built on Android 17, the major platform upgrade is slated to reach 82 devices in total, covering 67 smartphones alongside 15 tablet models across three planned distribution phases. The earliest phase is already underway in early November, delivering the software package to 33 devices that include the Xiaomi 17 and 15 families, the Redmi Note 17 and 15 lineups, Poco F8 and X8 series, and the Xiaomi Pad 8 tablet lineup.
Visual Overhaul and Under-the-Hood Capabilities
The transition to the new operating system introduces a redesigned aesthetic known as soft light glass design. Alongside visual refinements, the system brings upgraded artificial intelligence tools, tighter multitasking controls, and smoother overall system responsiveness. Because of the substantial platform transition, users should expect download packages to exceed 8 GB in size, requiring sufficient internal storage and stable network connectivity before proceeding with installation.
Breakdown of the Three Distribution Waves
The broader deployment roadmap is split across three distinct waves to manage server load and platform stability. The opening wave focuses on flagship and key mid-range units. The second wave is slated for mid-November with 16 devices, followed by a final wave in December covering the remaining 33 hardware models. Regional carriers, territories, and individual hardware variations may slightly influence the exact timing of local release builds.
- Early November: Xiaomi 17 Ultra, 17, 17T Pro, 17T, 15 Ultra, 15, Leica Leitzphone, Redmi Note 17/15 series, Redmi 17/15C, Poco F8/X8/M8 lines, and Xiaomi Pad 8.
- Mid-November: Xiaomi 15T series, Poco F9, F7, X7 Pro series, Xiaomi Pad 7 lineup, Pad Mini, and Redmi Pad 2 Pro.
- December: Xiaomi Mix Flip, Xiaomi 14 and 13 lineups, 14T/13T series, Redmi Note 14 family, Poco F6/X6/X7, and select older tablet entries.
Indian Availability and Installation Checks
While an exclusive timeline for India has not been separately published, the upgrade cycle for Indian devices is expected to coincide with the broader international roadmap between November and December 2026. The hardware portfolio matches the globally announced catalog, meaning compatible Indian models will gradually receive notifications in their respective waves. Device owners can manually verify file availability by heading into their phone settings and opening the system updater interface.
