Television actress Shweta Tiwari married Raja Chaudhary at just 18, going against her family's wishes. In a recent interview, Raja Chaudhary opened up about Shweta and their daughter Palak, along with the reasons behind their split.
Raja denies the domestic violence allegations
The reasons behind Raja Chaudhary and Shweta Tiwari's divorce have long been a subject of discussion. Shweta had earlier accused Raja of domestic violence and struggling with alcohol addiction during their marriage. Years later, Raja has now dismissed these allegations as completely baseless. In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, when he was asked whether he had ever hit Shweta or gotten physically violent with her during their marriage, Raja flatly denied it. He said, "I never raised my hand on Shweta." He added that in anger, he may have broken things like the front door, the TV or a table, but insisted he never hit her.
What he said about verbal abuse
Raja was also asked whether he used to verbally abuse Shweta. He admitted that harsh words sometimes slip out when someone is angry, but maintained that his intention was never to insult Shweta. He clarified that he does not use such language in normal life, but during an argument or a fight, such words can occasionally come out.
The claim about her graduation degree
Raja Chaudhary also revealed that he never called Shweta Tiwari illiterate. However, he made a fresh claim, saying that Shweta had always claimed to be a graduate, which according to him is not true, and that she had lied to him about it. Raja challenged her to show her degree publicly so the truth could come out. Since the interview surfaced, their old marriage and divorce story has once again become a talking point on social media.
