A shocking case of domestic violence has surfaced from Uttar Pradesh's Fatehpur district, where a woman has been accused of tying up her own husband, beating him mercilessly and shocking him with live electric wires. The incident took place in Parsadepur village, which falls under the Aung police station area of Fatehpur district.
Police Rushed In After a Call on the 112 Emergency Line
According to information given by the police, a call about a seriously injured man was received on the police's 112 emergency service on Saturday morning. As soon as the call came in, a police team rushed to Parsadepur village without delay and took the badly injured man into their care. Fatehpur Superintendent of Police Abhimanyu Manglik later briefed the media on the case and said the injured man had been identified as Sanjeev Tiwari. The SP said police took swift note of the matter as soon as the information reached them and immediately began the necessary follow up action.
Tied to a Cot and Beaten All Night, Then Shocked With Live Wires
In his statement to the police, victim Sanjeev Tiwari alleged that on Friday night he got into a heated argument with his wife over some issue. As the argument escalated, his wife tied him tightly to a cot with a rope and then began beating him severely. He alleged that even this did not calm her anger, and she went on to press live electric wires against different parts of his body repeatedly, giving him electric shocks that left him badly burnt. SP Abhimanyu Manglik said that as soon as police received the information, the team rushed the injured Sanjeev Tiwari to the nearest hospital, where a team of doctors treated him. Once his condition improved, police recorded his official statement, in which he described the entire ordeal in detail.
Case Registered on Brother's Written Complaint, Wife Taken Into Custody
After Sanjeev Tiwari's condition improved, his brother went to the Aung police station and filed a written complaint against the accused woman. Based on this complaint, police registered a case under the relevant serious sections and took the accused wife into custody. Police officials said the case is being investigated from every angle, and further strict legal action will be taken based on whatever evidence comes to light during the investigation.
