Saturn's transit through the sign right before, over, and right after a person's Moon sign is what astrology calls Sade Sati, and right now people with Aquarius, Pisces and Aries as their Moon sign are all going through some stage of it. The three signs are not at the same point in the cycle though, one is close to the finish line while another has only just stepped in.
How Sade Sati actually works
When Saturn moves through the sign just before a person's natal Moon sign, then through the Moon sign itself, and finally through the sign right after it, that entire stretch is known as Sade Sati, essentially the 12th, 1st and 2nd house transits counted from the Moon sign. Because Saturn moves so slowly, this full cycle takes roughly seven and a half years and is broken into three stages, the beginning, the peak and the final phase.
Pisces: in the toughest middle phase, relief only after 2029-30
Pisces is currently going through what is considered the heaviest part of Sade Sati, the middle phase. Saturn entered Pisces on 29 March 2025, and that is the date the middle phase for Pisces began. This stretch tends to bring delayed work, a sudden pile up of responsibilities and pressure while making important decisions. A temporary break arrives from 3 June 2027, when Saturn moves into Aries for a while, but that relief will not last. Saturn returns to Pisces on 20 October 2027, and only when it re-enters Aries on 23 February 2028 does Pisces finally move into the last phase of Sade Sati. Complete freedom from the cycle will only come by 2029-30 for Pisces, and different calculation methods give slightly different closing dates.
Aries: the cycle has just begun, effects run until 2032
For Aries, Sade Sati has already started. The moment Saturn stepped into Pisces, the opening phase for Aries kicked in too, since Pisces sits exactly in the 12th house from Aries. The main phase for Aries will start on 3 June 2027, when Saturn enters Aries directly. But Saturn will not stay put, it slips back into Pisces in October 2027 and re-enters Aries in February 2028, after which the main phase continues. In August 2029, Saturn moves into Taurus, marking the start of the final phase for Aries, which is expected to run until April 2030. After a gap, the entire Sade Sati cycle for Aries is considered to close around May 2032, making it the longest stretch of the three signs.
Aquarius: in the last leg, relief lands by 2027-28
Of the three signs, Aquarius is in the best position, since it is already in the final phase of Sade Sati. Aquarius is expected to be completely free of it by 2027-28. That puts things in perspective, Pisces is still in the main phase and may need to wait until 2029-30, while Aries faces the longest journey, one that only wraps up around 2032.
What to do during Sade Sati
Treating Sade Sati purely as a period of trouble is not the right way to look at it in astrology. Saturn is regarded as the planet of karma and justice, so this phase calls for hard work, discipline and patience. Those who handle their responsibilities carefully during this period and avoid rushing into major decisions often end up with a stronger foundation once it passes.
