The Indian motorcycle market witnessed robust momentum in the 350cc to 500cc segment during August 2026, achieving total sales of 1,31,956 units. This performance marked a significant 19.79 percent increase compared to the 1,10,158 units sold in the same month last year. When compared to July 2026, the segment also registered a healthy 7.73 percent jump in overall volumes. Royal Enfield firmly maintained its dominance in this category, capturing a massive market share of approximately 83.56 percent.
Royal Enfield Classic 350 retains the top spot
The Royal Enfield Classic 350 continued to be the highest-selling motorcycle in the segment for the month. Registering sales of 43,428 units, it alone accounts for 32.91 percent of the total segment volume. This represents a 20.55 percent year-on-year growth compared to the 36,025 units sold during the corresponding period last year. Its classic styling and trusted reliability continue to draw steady attention from buyers.
Bullet 350 and Hunter 350 secure strong numbers
Securing the second position, the Royal Enfield Bullet 350 recorded 27,533 units in sales, marking a 13.83 percent increase over the 24,188 units sold last year. This timeless model has also earned a firm place on the top 10 motorcycle sales list, supported by its traditional design and reliable engine performance. Meanwhile, the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 captured the third spot with 23,869 units sold, showing a 2.45 percent annual growth and an 8.34 percent monthly improvement. Its smart appearance and practical utility remain popular among younger riders.
Meteor 350 and Honda CB 350 performance overview
The fourth position was held by the Royal Enfield Meteor 350, which achieved 10,669 units in sales, representing a 19.11 percent jump from 8,957 units last year. Although it saw a slight dip compared to July, its yearly performance remains solid due to its comfortable riding posture suited for long-distance journeys. Taking the fifth spot, the Honda CB 350 registered a massive surge by selling 9,052 units, translating to an incredible 132.52 percent growth compared to 3,893 units in the previous year. Honda has updated this lineup by dropping the H’ness moniker, and the model saw over 24 percent growth compared to July.
Performance of other brands in the segment
Several other motorcycles also contributed to the segment numbers in August 2026. Triumph 350 registered 4,723 units, Himalayan recorded 3,068 units, KTM 350 sold 413 units, Bajaj Pulsar 350/400 recorded 1,712 units, and Dominar 350/400 achieved 1,353 units. Harley-Davidson X440 sales dropped by 19.49 percent, while Aprilia RS 457 and Tuono 457 posted healthy growth. Conversely, declines were recorded for KTM 390 and Triumph 400. Overall, Royal Enfield's 350cc lineup drove the segment forward while Honda and other competitors sustained active market competition.
