Actor Rajesh Sharma has finally addressed the widespread rumors surrounding his recent health scare. Over the past few weeks, heavy speculation suggested that Rajesh Sharma had suffered a severe leg infection after being bitten by a poisonous insect on the sets of the upcoming Prabhas film Fauji, prompting his urgent hospitalization. Clearing the air on these claims, the actor has confirmed that his medical emergency had nothing to do with the movie's production or the shooting location, and assured fans that he is now fully recovered and ready to return to work.
Spike in Blood Sugar Triggered the Condition
During an interview with a media outlet, Rajesh Sharma spoke openly about his health condition. He revealed that he had been dealing with a skin-related issue on his right leg for quite some time. The minor infection escalated significantly because his blood sugar levels skyrocketed. He firmly reiterated that this medical crisis had zero connection to the shooting of the Prabhas-starrer Fauji, attributing the flare-up entirely to his elevated diabetes levels rather than any set mishap.
Deterioration Occurred After Returning to Kolkata
Recalling the hospitalization that took place two months ago, the actor stated that the stories regarding an insect bite on the Fauji set are entirely false. He emphasized that neither Prabhas nor any member of the unit is responsible, praising them as wonderful people. According to him, nothing went wrong during the schedule in Hyderabad, and everything was completely fine. His health only took a turn for the worse a couple of days after he returned home to Kolkata. He admitted that the situation worsened because his blood sugar level was extremely high and he failed to take it seriously enough at the very beginning.
Diabetes Accelerated the Pre-existing Infection
Rajesh Sharma further explained that he already had a skin infection on his right leg, which compounded rapidly due to his diabetes. However, he confirmed that he has now completed his medical treatment and is doing well, intending to resume his professional commitments shortly. Addressing a social media post shared by Sudipta Chatterjee which claimed he was admitted due to an insect bite, Sharma explained that she is a very good friend who posted out of genuine concern, but unfortunately received incorrect information regarding the incident.
Earlier, industry bodies had raised questions directed at the production house regarding why he wasn't taken to a hospital immediately, but the actor's direct clarification has now put all rumors of an on-set injury to rest.
