The Kapoor family is deep in wedding celebrations this week. Arjun Kapoor's sister Anshula Kapoor is set to marry her fiance Rohan Thakkar on July 6, and ahead of the big day the family came together for her choora ceremony. A moment from that ceremony has now caught everyone's attention: when Anshula shook off her kaleere, they landed on Arjun Kapoor and Shanaya Kapoor, sending fans into a joking frenzy about who might be walking down the aisle next.
An emotional ritual at the heart of Punjabi weddings
The choora and kaleere ceremony is considered one of the most special and emotional traditions in Punjabi weddings. During the ritual, the bride shakes the kaleere tied to her bangles over the heads of the unmarried siblings and close friends gathered around her. Tradition holds that whoever the kaleere falls on is next in line to get married, which is exactly why the ritual always brings a mix of laughter, teasing and anticipation into the wedding household.
Kaleere land on Arjun and Shanaya, and fans start guessing
Anshula shared a series of photos from her choora ceremony on Instagram, and one picture in particular grabbed attention. In it, as Anshula shakes the kaleere off her wrists, a piece falls right onto Arjun Kapoor and Shanaya Kapoor. Both can be seen smiling adorably at the camera while holding up the fallen piece of kaleera. The picture immediately got fans speculating on social media about whether Arjun and Shanaya could be next in the family to tie the knot. The photos also make it clear that Anshula performed the ritual with every unmarried member among her family and friends.
Who else joined the celebration
Besides Arjun Kapoor and Shanaya Kapoor, the ceremony was also attended by Khushi Kapoor and internet sensation Orry. Everyone was seen thoroughly enjoying the ritual and having fun in front of the camera.
This was the moment it felt real, Anshula writes
Sharing the pictures, Anshula also penned a heartfelt and emotional note. She wrote, Choora, kaleere and blessings of elders. Honestly, this was the moment I first felt that my wedding is actually happening. Written on these kaleere are love, happiness and so many magical blessings that my family and friends have given me. She went on to explain that the most beautiful part of the ritual is that when you drop a kaleera onto someone, you are essentially passing on that very same love and blessing to them, adding that the ritual is a reminder that love is always meant to be shared.
Sisters made the mehendi ceremony special too
Before the choora ceremony, Anshula had also shared photos from her mehendi ceremony. In that post, she thanked her sisters Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor from the heart, saying the two of them together made the entire mehendi function so perfect and beautiful that she didn't have to worry about a single thing.
