Viewers were impressed by the heavy-duty VFX and the cast's screen presence, but the biggest talking point has become a single scene that has fans convinced Ranbir Kapoor isn't just playing Lord Ram, he may also be playing Parshuram in Nitesh Tiwari's grand mythological film.

The portion of the trailer drawing the most attention shows Parshuram kneeling before Lord Ram and handing him Lord Vishnu's divine bow, Sharanga. The clip went viral on X, with users insisting that the actor playing Parshuram is Ranbir Kapoor himself rather than a separate performer. So far, neither the film's team nor its makers have issued any official confirmation of the double-role claim.
Who is Parshuram?
In Hindu belief, Parshuram is regarded as the sixth of Lord Vishnu's ten avatars. He is also known by names such as Ram Jamdagni, Bhargav Ram and Veer Ram. According to tradition, he is destined to become the guru of Kalki, Vishnu's tenth and final avatar, who is described as immortal. Separately, the cast list also reveals that the role of Maharishi Vishwamitra is being played by Ajinkya Dev.

A handle named Annihilator (@Gargi16191) wrote that Ranbir Kapoor would be playing Parshuram and Shri Ram simultaneously, adding that theatres would turn into temples for the scene. What's getting the most praise after the trailer's release is the way Ranbir Kapoor has approached this role. From Rockstar to Animal, he has largely been seen in intense, aggressive characters. In Ramayana, however, his portrayal of Lord Ram is calm, gentle and composed, a sharp departure from his earlier fierce screen persona. The film is directed by Nitesh Tiwari, who is being described as the mastermind behind this grand project.
