Hailing from Kerala, George Pius Tharayil built an extensive portfolio across Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi cinema. Over the years, he took on diverse production responsibilities, working extensively as a line producer, executive producer, and lead producer on numerous prestigious cinematic ventures. Among his most widely recognized projects was the Kamal Haasan starrer 'Papanasam', alongside the high-octane Ajith action film 'Billa 2', the acclaimed English-language Indian drama 'Mitr: My Friend', and the mystery thriller 'The Body'. His ability to steer complex, multi-lingual productions made him a trusted pillar of behind-the-scenes filmmaking in the Indian entertainment sphere.

His professional journey in feature filmmaking began in 2002, when he entered the industry handling executive production and line production duties. George Pius marked his formal debut as an executive producer on the project 'Mitr: My Friend', which featured Shobana, Nasir Abdullah, and Preeti Vissa in pivotal roles. Following that project, he went on to manage executive production duties on two major commercial projects headlined by Tamil star Ajith, specifically the drama 'Kireedam' and the gangster thriller 'Billa 2'. The mortal remains of George Pius Tharayil have been placed at his residence to allow family, close friends, and industry colleagues to pay their last respects, with several prominent figures arriving to offer floral wreaths. His final rites and funeral ceremonies are scheduled to be conducted on October 8. His demise comes shortly after the passing of veteran Tamil scholar and actor Solomon Pappaiah at the age of 90, which had also drawn heartfelt condolences from Prabhu Deva and the wider cultural fraternity.
