Long before ruling the silver screen as a leading Bollywood figure, Ranveer Singh witnessed a personal milestone that felt straight out of a movie script. During his early days of chasing an acting career, an unusual present given to him by his sister on his 23rd birthday foresaw the massive cinematic journey that awaited him years down the line.
The Unique Birthday Gift and Visual Manifestation
Recalling the memorable moment during an appearance on the talk show Rendezvous with Simi Garewal, the actor shared how his sister drew inspiration from concepts of mental affirmation. She had been reading literature such as The Secret along with The Power of Positive Thinking. Motivated by those ideas, she decided to ditch standard candles on his cake and instead crafted miniature edited visuals representing his cinematic aspirations.
Reflecting on that celebration, Ranveer Singh recounted, "She morphed my face on Yash Raj Films posters replacing Shah Rukh sir."
She had digitally placed his face over Shah Rukh Khan in the famous promotional material of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, while repeating a similar edit for the action franchise Dhoom. Deeply touched by the gesture, the aspiring performer removed those cutouts from the celebratory cake and pinned them directly onto his bedroom wall. He has consistently credited his sister's optimistic vision for inspiring his eventual breakthrough.
Translating Early Ambitions into Box Office Success
Remarkably, the vision turned into concrete reality when Ranveer Singh made his mainstream acting debut in 2010 through Band Baaja Baaraat under the very same Yash Raj Films banner, sharing the screen alongside Anushka Sharma. His rise through the industry eventually positioned him among Hindi cinema's most bankable names. His theatrical release Dhurandhar delivered historic box office numbers, securing approximately 895.96 crore rupees net domestically and reaching 1,354.84 crore rupees net across global markets.
Future Cinematic Venture and Family Life
Currently, the actor remains occupied with preparations for his forthcoming project titled Pralay, featuring Kalyani Priyadarshan in a leading role. Alongside his creative commitments, his home life has recently expanded with the arrival of a new family member.
Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone celebrated the birth of their second daughter on September 19, 2026. The parents posted a warm announcement reading 'Welcome baby girl...Dua, Deepika, Ranveer' to share the update. Their first daughter, Dua, was born earlier on September 8, 2024.
