The theatrical anticipation for the big-screen adaptation of the epic Ramayana has surged dramatically just four days ahead of its global release. Moviegoers have rushed to reserve their seats the moment ticket counters opened, triggering an overwhelming pre-sale rush across theaters. Audiences are eagerly waiting to witness Ranbir Kapoor portraying Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, and Yash stepping into the role of Lankapati Raavan. Early reservation trends clearly indicate that this monumental production is primed for a record-breaking domestic opening.
Opening Day Reservations Cross Rs 23.87 Crore
By Sunday at 5 PM, nationwide pre-sales for the opening day stood at an impressive Rs 23.87 crore. Across 13,165 scheduled shows throughout India, theater chains recorded sales of approximately 5.42 lakh tickets. Overall seat occupancy has hit 15 percent across all listed properties, and 42 shows nationwide have already been declared completely sold out.
Premium Screen Formats and IMAX Drive Major Revenue
Audience preferences show a heavy skew toward advanced visual presentations. Premium theater formats including IMAX, 4DX, and Dolby Cinema are witnessing intense demand from viewers. From just 360 premium shows, the production gathered an incredible Rs 4.74 crore in ticket revenue. This alone accounts for nearly 23 percent of the entire domestic advance collection, underlining that patrons are willing to spend top dollar for an immersive sound and visual experience.
Two-Day Domestic Collection Climbs Past Rs 36.65 Crore
Combining the initial two days of the release cycle reveals an even stronger commercial trajectory. Across 24,510 shows nationwide, total ticket sales have reached 8.38 lakh, taking total gross pre-sales to Rs 36.65 crore. Excluding blocked inventory, the figure rests securely at Rs 29.79 crore. On the second day alone, the film booked Rs 12.78 crore in gross pre-sales, translating to Rs 9.75 crore on a net basis.
Global Footprint Expands Across North America and Overseas
The cinematic frenzy is not confined to Indian theaters, as overseas territories report massive advance numbers. In North America, ticket sales for special premiere screenings have already crossed 1 million dollars. Across all international markets outside India combined, global advance booking has surpassed 3.5 million dollars. Trade estimates suggest that the film is comfortably positioned to rake in over 20 million dollars from international territories across its opening weekend alone.
Massive Scale, Star Power, and November 5 Premiere
Helmed by director Nitesh Tiwari, this two-part mythological franchise is being mounted on a colossal estimated budget of Rs 4,000 crore. The first installment is locked to hit cinema screens on November 5. Beyond the central trio, the ensemble cast features prominent talents including Ravi Dubey, Sunny Deol, Lara Dutta, and Arun Govil. Elevating the cinematic canvas further, the musical score has been composed collaboratively by Academy Award winners AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer, setting high expectations among audiences worldwide.
