Trade pacts established with multiple international partners are actively generating fresh employment avenues for the domestic workforce. Speaking via video conference at the Rozgar Mela on Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stressed that the skills, ingenuity, and drive of young Indians have earned genuine global trust, with international markets placing high expectations on the country's innovators and entrepreneurs.
Global Market Expansion Through Trade Treaties
Highlighting the strategic benefits of commercial agreements, Narendra Modi stated that India has concluded 40 free trade agreements. These trade pacts are unlocking new possibilities for young professionals across diverse domains. Such compacts enable domestic entrepreneurs to forge cross-border partnerships, open up access to overseas commercial hubs, and generate viable career opportunities in emerging sectors.
Over 51,000 Candidates Inducted Across Union Ministries
During the event, appointment letters were distributed to more than 51,000 newly recruited personnel across multiple central government departments and public organisations. According to information released by the Prime Minister's Office, the completion of this 20th edition brings the cumulative count of appointment letters issued through these employment drives to 12.75 lakh candidates.
The newly inducted personnel will take up roles across key central administrative bodies. These postings span the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Railways, the Ministry of Defence, the Department of Revenue, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and the Department of Financial Services.
Widening the Scope of BRICS Cooperation
Reflecting on the recently concluded BRICS Summit, the Prime Minister pointed out that India has consistently endeavoured to ensure collaboration across the bloc extends beyond intergovernmental dialogues. The participation of grassroots stakeholders, including business founders, agricultural workers, women, and the youth, is essential to making these multinational associations truly effective and inclusive.
Decentralisation of the Startup Ecosystem Across Smaller Towns
Focusing on the country's business landscape, Narendra Modi noted that India currently stands as the third-largest startup ecosystem across the globe. A major structural development is that enterprise creation is no longer concentrated solely in major urban metropolises. Approximately half of all officially recognized startups are now operating from Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, actively supporting the broader mission to achieve a developed nation by 2047.
