Rail connectivity between the national capital Delhi and Uttar Pradesh's major industrial hub Kanpur is set to improve significantly. Indian Railways has decided to operate two new special train services connecting Delhi and Kanpur via Etawah and Aligarh. While one of these trains will run between New Delhi and Kanpur Central, the second service will operate between Anand Vihar in Delhi and Kanpur Central. Indian Railways has released the complete operational details for both pairs of special trains.
The introduction of these two special train services will make travel between Delhi and Kanpur much more comfortable and convenient for passengers. Since Kanpur is a prominent industrial and commercial center in Uttar Pradesh, these trains are also expected to greatly benefit business travelers and local traders.
New Delhi-Kanpur Central Special Train
Train number 02456, the New Delhi-Kanpur Central Special, will depart from New Delhi from September 7 through November 30 on every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday at 07:45 AM. The train will pass through Aligarh at 09:52 AM and Etawah at 11:55 AM before arriving at Kanpur Central at 13:15 PM.
Kanpur Central-New Delhi Special Train
On the return journey, train number 02455, the Kanpur Central-New Delhi Special, will operate from September 7 to November 30 on every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, departing Kanpur at 15:00 PM. The train will reach Etawah at 16:20 PM and Aligarh at 18:15 PM before pulling into New Delhi at 20:20 PM. This train will feature a total of 22 coaches, including 5 sleeper class coaches, 15 third-class AC coaches, and 2 SLR coaches.
Anand Vihar Terminal-Kanpur Central Special Train
Train number 02458, connecting Anand Vihar and Kanpur Central, will run from September 8 to November 29 on every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday, departing at 08:20 AM. The service will pass through Aligarh at 09:52 AM and Etawah at 11:55 AM, reaching Kanpur Central at 13:15 PM.
Kanpur Central-Anand Vihar Special Train
For the return trip, train number 02457, the Kanpur Central-Anand Vihar Special, will operate from September 8 through November 29 on every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday, leaving Kanpur at 15:00 PM. The train will arrive at Etawah at 16:20 PM and Aligarh at 18:15 PM, eventually terminating at Anand Vihar at 20:10 PM. Like its counterpart, this train will also run with a total of 22 coaches, comprising 5 sleeper class, 15 third-class AC, and 2 SLR coaches.
