Water and air purifier brand KENT has officially ventured into the residential electrical and power storage sector. Under its newly established division named KENT New Energy, the company has introduced a comprehensive product lineup consisting of lithium storage batteries, solar hybrid inverters, and intelligent power backup equipment. The initiative is geared toward helping households overcome routine blackouts while simultaneously expediting the widespread adoption of domestic solar power generation. To anchor this expansion, the organisation has poured roughly 250 crore rupees into setting up dedicated production infrastructure in Noida.
Lithium Battery Range Scaling Up to 16 kWh Capacity
Focusing on rooftop and residential solar storage needs, KENT New Energy has introduced lithium battery packs in 5.1 kWh, 11.8 kWh, and 16 kWh configurations. These specialized storage units are engineered to harness energy directly from solar panels as well as standard grid electricity, holding it ready for immediate dispatch whenever household demand rises or power cuts strike. Engineered for extensive operational endurance, these battery units are rated for more than 6,000 charge and discharge cycles and are accompanied by an extensive 10-year warranty from the manufacturer.
Alongside the energy storage packs, the firm launched smart solar hybrid inverters available in power ratings spanning 3 kW to 15 kW. These hybrid units incorporate coordinated circuitry capable of synchronizing and distributing electricity sourced from solar arrays, internal battery reserves, and the traditional utility grid without manual intervention.
Pricing Commences at 22,000 Rupees Alongside Projected Lifetime Savings
To cater to households seeking drop-in replacements for standard household inverters and UPS applications, KENT has also introduced 12-volt and 24-volt lithium battery alternatives. The pricing for these compact solutions starts at 22,000 rupees. The company projects that switching from conventional lead-acid battery packs to lithium storage could deliver cumulative savings between 30,000 rupees and 1,00,000 rupees across a 10-year operational span. Final savings figures will naturally depend upon specific household consumption patterns and baseline maintenance requirements.
For homeowners preferring compact setups, the manufacturer has also engineered an integrated all-in-one inverter, which houses both the inverter electronics and the lithium battery cells inside a single unified casing. Furthermore, these power backup devices incorporate remote mobile app functionality, enabling consumers to track battery charge levels, health parameters, and live electricity usage directly from their phones.
Heavy Load Support for Three Air Conditioners and Focus on Rural Grid Outages
Addressing the launch, Mahesh Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director of KENT, highlighted that the standout feature of this new solar inverter lineup is its comprehensive 10-year warranty, which offers up to three times the lifespan seen in typical inverter batteries. He pointed out that while standard home inverters are primarily restricted to operating modest loads like light bulbs and ceiling fans, KENT's solar hybrid inverter is capable of simultaneously powering up to three air conditioning units. It delivers a high-tier lithium battery energy package designed for heavy domestic duties.
A critical consideration moving forward will be sustaining price competitiveness, particularly because the domestic market contains numerous inexpensive, lower-tier inverter setups. Highlighting practical applications, Mahesh Gupta remarked that power reliability remains fragile during nighttime hours across numerous rural villages, making resilient solar inverters exceptionally useful in those regions. He added that the strategic decision to transition from water purification to renewable energy was influenced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's dedicated national focus on green energy and solar expansion.
Manufacturing Hub in Noida Sector 159 Sees 250 Crore Rupee Commitment
Production operations for this portfolio are concentrated in Sector-159, Noida, where the company invested an estimated 250 crore rupees to build a specialized facility across six acres of land. The manufacturing center currently operates at an annual production capacity of 3.5 GWh. Over the upcoming six months, KENT intends to ramp up infrastructure to achieve an expanded production run rate of 10 GWh.
This market entry arrives at a time when consumer interest in residential rooftop solar installations and decentralised power backup is rapidly accelerating across India. Distribution will leverage the company's existing retail dealer network, company-owned stores, and popular e-commerce destinations. With this rollout, KENT successfully extends its core brand presence beyond domestic purification appliances into comprehensive home green energy management.
