Festive preparations across Chhattisgarh are witnessing a creative transformation this Diwali, with local firework hubs rolling out an innovative lineup of crackers. Moving beyond standard ground spinners and traditional sparklers, retail stalls are showcasing multi-stage pyrotechnics that promise to elevate celebrations. At Ratna Fire Work in Balod, novel creations such as the Lotus Chakri, Anar Plus Sky Shot, and a 9-spinner special variant have emerged as the premier attractions, drawing crowds from across regional villages and neighboring districts.
Dual-stage Visuals: Lotus Blooms and Skyburst Effects
Aarti Sahu, who manages Ratna Fire Work, detailed the mechanics behind the newly arrived inventory. Among the featured items, the Lotus Chakri stands out for its distinct presentation. Once lit, the firework initially spins along the ground like an ordinary wheel, but within moments, it releases an overhead flare shaped precisely like a blooming lotus flower. This mechanism enables consumers to experience both a rapid ground spinner and a colorful floral illumination through a single cracker.
Another widely sought-after item is the Anar Plus Sky Shot, designed to provide a two-in-one visual treat. The firework begins as a conventional sparkling fountain, after which a projectile launches upward into the night sky, dispersing into vibrant floral patterns. Adding to this catalog is a multi-action wheel that starts with an anar-style flare and subsequently ejects 9 small individual spinning chakris that rotate around its base. These unconventional features have fueled considerable interest among shoppers preparing for the festival.
Wholesale Pricing and a 22-Year Retail Legacy
Highlighting the store's retail model, Aarti Sahu noted that Ratna Fire Work maintains a reputation for providing high-grade varieties at accessible price points. Individual buyers are extended wholesale rates on retail purchases, prompting early footfall well before Diwali night. Beyond catering to residents of roughly 50 to 60 villages across Balod district, the establishment also attracts regular customers traveling from Kanker, Narayanpur, and Bastar districts.
Reflecting on her entrepreneurial journey, Aarti stated that she began her fireworks trade back in 2002 by setting up a temporary stall on open ground. Over the past 6 years, the business has transitioned into a full-scale permanent outlet. Spanning an entrepreneurial path of around 22 years, customer trust has remained the foundation of the venture, sustaining strong public excitement for each season's newest firework launches.
