Aaryavir has been appointed captain of the Delhi Under-19 cricket team for the upcoming domestic season. The Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) junior men's selection committee finalized a 16-member squad for the Vinoo Mankad Trophy, naming the 18-year-old as the skipper.
Delhi Under-19 Squad Set for Visakhapatnam Tournament
The Vinoo Mankad Trophy 2026 is scheduled to begin in October in Visakhapatnam. Following a formal selection meeting, the DDCA announced the 16-player contingent, trusting Aaryavir with leadership duties at the age of 18 as Delhi prepares for the national one-day competition.
National Junior Selection Milestone
The state captaincy follows an earlier milestone in August 2026, when Aaryavir earned selection to the India Under-19 one-day squad for the series against Australia. That same national squad selection also included Rahul Dravid's son Samit Dravid's contemporary Anvay Dravid, with Ayush Mhatre and others, while Lakshya was appointed captain of the India Under-19 one-day team.
Crucial Test in Domestic Circuit
The Vinoo Mankad Trophy serves as a primary proving ground in India's age-group cricket setup. As Delhi begins its campaign in Visakhapatnam, Aaryavir steps into the role with the responsibility of directing tactical decisions on the field alongside his individual contributions with the bat.
