New Delhi: The Indian women's cricket team delivered a dominant performance against Zimbabwe in the third T20 fixture, securing a resounding 92-run victory. With this win, the visiting side was whitewashed 0-3 in the three-match series. Batting first after winning the toss or being put in, India posted a imposing total of 216 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. In response, Zimbabwe could only manage 124 runs for 7 wickets at the end of their 20 overs.
Top Order Batting Dominance
India's top order once again showcased its immense firepower during the match. Explosive opening batter Shafali Verma played a scintillating knock of 69 runs from just 37 deliveries, peppering her innings with 6 boundaries and 5 sixes. Meanwhile, captain Harmanpreet Kaur anchored and accelerated the innings brilliantly, remaining unbeaten on 91 runs off 41 balls, featuring 10 fours and 5 sixes. Aside from these two batting stars, the rest of the lineup did not contribute significantly, but the total proved more than sufficient. For her stellar contributions throughout the series, Shafali Verma was honored with the Player of the Series award.
Disciplined Bowling Attack
Chasing a daunting target, Zimbabwe's Sharn Meyers put up the strongest resistance with a knock of 60 runs. She was supported by Beloved Biza, who chipped in with 44 runs to keep hopes alive temporarily, but a lack of support from the rest of the batting order resulted in a comprehensive defeat. On the bowling front, Nandini Sharma spearheaded the Indian attack by conceding just 18 runs in her 4-over spell while picking up 3 crucial wickets. Supporting contributions came from Kranti Goud, Arundhati Reddy, Deepti Sharma, and Nikki Prasad, who claimed one wicket each.
