Sri Lankan spin bowler Prabath Jayasuriya has been handed a severe reprimand by the ICC. Jayasuriya was found guilty of breaching Article 2.2 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Services. This specific article pertains to the abuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment, or fixtures and fittings during an international cricket match. Consequently, a demerit point has also been officially added to his disciplinary record.
