The Fazilka Falcons franchise secured his services by placing a winning bid of 13.20 lakh rupees, making him the most expensive pick of the initial round. Following this lucrative deal, Sanveer will now share the dressing room and represent the Falcons alongside Indian cricket team captain and the franchise marquee player Shubman Gill.

Punjab Cricket Association President Amarjit Singh Mehta noted that extensive efforts were put in alongside the state Chief Minister to turn this grand vision into reality, adding that the initiative is now nearing its culmination. He emphasized that playing at the iconic PCA Stadium in Mohali remains a lifelong dream for every cricketer, and this league will provide players from across Punjab a prestigious platform to showcase their abilities, gain invaluable exposure, and perform on a grand stage.
Heavy Bidding For Star Names
The auction floor witnessed intense bidding battles for several other prominent domestic names as well. Amritsar Suraj grabbed Naman Dhir for 10.80 lakh rupees, while Amolpreet Singh was signed by Mohali Kings for 8.20 lakh rupees. Bathinda Royals roped in both Harnoor Singh and Ashwani Kumar for seven lakh rupees each. Meanwhile, Jalandhar Warriors acquired Sukhdeep Bajwa for six lakh rupees, Harpreet Barar joined Mohali Kings for four lakh rupees, and Mayank Markande went to Amritsar Suraj for 1.50 lakh rupees.
Structure And Teams Of The League
Organized under the aegis of the Punjab Cricket Association, the Sher-e-Punjab T20 League is a premier state-level T20 competition designed to give upcoming grassroots cricketers the vital opportunity to play competitive matches alongside established stars. The tournament features a total of six franchises representing different regions of the state, namely the Fazilka Falcons, Amritsar Suraj, Ludhiana Lions, Jalandhar Warriors, Mohali Kings, and Bathinda Royals.
Marquee Players And Tournament Dates
The upcoming season will feature several of Punjab leading cricket stars appearing in the capacity of marquee players, including Shubman Gill, Abhishek Sharma, Arshdeep Singh, Prabhsimran Singh, Ramandeep Singh, and Gurnoor Brar. Each of these marquee players has been contracted by the franchises for a fixed price of 10 lakh rupees. The competitive T20 tournament is officially scheduled to run from August 30 to September 13.
