A tragic incident has unfolded in the CB Ganj police station area of Bareilly district in Uttar Pradesh, where a young man was found hanging from a ceiling fan under mysterious circumstances just a month after marrying the woman he loved. The shocking discovery was made on Sunday, sending ripples of shock through the local community as local authorities launched a detailed investigation into the sequence of events. According to police officials, the deceased individual has been identified as 28-year-old Faizan, a resident of Navadiya village located within the CB Ganj jurisdiction, who was employed at a private hospital.
Couple Lived Separately in Rented Accommodation
According to police details, Faizan had entered into a love marriage with 22-year-old Jasmine roughly a month prior to the tragedy. Following their wedding, the newlywed couple had chosen to live separately from their extended families in a rented home. Jasmine recounted to investigators that after finishing dinner on Saturday night, Faizan went to sleep as usual. When she woke up on Sunday morning, she was horrified to discover that Faizan's body was hanging from the ceiling fan using a dupatta.
Family Estrangement and Mental Tension
Jasmine further informed the authorities that she immediately notified both her own family members and her in-laws regarding Faizan's death, following which the local police were called to the scene. Citing statements given by Jasmine, police noted that certain members of Faizan's family were displeased with their love marriage. This estrangement and distance from his relatives had reportedly left Faizan dealing with considerable mental stress in the days leading up to the incident.
Family Points to Head Injury and Demands Probe
However, the case took a complicated turn when Faizan's relatives brought a crucial observation to the attention of the Bareilly police, reporting that blood was visible on the deceased man's head. Citing this unusual detail, the family members expressed deep skepticism regarding the circumstances surrounding the death and have formally demanded a comprehensive police investigation into the matter to uncover the truth.
Police Collect Evidence Awaiting Autopsy Findings
Addressing the ongoing inquiry, CO Nitin Kumar stated that law enforcement personnel have gathered physical evidence directly from the scene and recorded the formal statements of the grieving relatives. The police official added that the definitive cause of death will only be established conclusively once the official post-mortem report is finalized. Authorities maintain that further legal steps will be taken strictly in alignment with the autopsy findings, physical observations at the scene, and statements provided by the family.
This incident comes on the heels of another recent tragedy in the state, where a newly married couple's household in Etawah was shattered just 19 days after their wedding when the husband died by suicide using a hanging rope and his wife subsequently attempted to take her own life.
