In an attempt to subdue his protesting wife, Lal Babu grabbed Shabeela by the neck and began choking her. When Shabeela tried to fight back in self-defense, Rukhsar joined the assault. Together, Lal Babu and Rukhsar used their combined physical strength to push Shabeela violently toward the bathroom. The force of the push caused Shabeela to crash into the bathroom, where her head struck a high concrete slab. Osama had stayed back in Sitamarhi, where police local teams apprehended him.
