A shocking incident unfolded inside the Vadakara police station premises in Kozhikode, Kerala, where a woman accused in a synthetic drug case was attacked by her own husband with a knife. The incident occurred on Saturday morning at around 10 am when the female accused arrived at the station complex to fulfill the mandatory signing requirements of her bail bond. The sudden assault inside a law enforcement facility created panic among the personnel and visitors present at the scene.
Assault Inside The Police Premises
The injured woman has been identified as Keerthana, who is facing criminal charges in connection with an MDMA narcotics case. As part of her judicial bail conditions, she was required to visit the police station regularly to mark her attendance. While she was completing this procedure inside the station, her husband confronted and attacked her with a sharp weapon, leaving her wounded before police personnel intervened to handle the situation.
Removal From Teaching Position
Before her legal troubles began, Keerthana was employed as a specialist contract teacher at the Block Resource Centre, or BRC, located in Perambra. Investigators previously alleged that she operated as a vital connecting link between wholesale drug traffickers and retail buyers involved in the illegal narcotics trade. Following her formal arrest in the drug case, authorities removed her from her teaching position at the BRC.
Prior Cocaine Seizure Case In Indore
In a separate major narcotics investigation earlier, law enforcement in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, had uncovered a major drug trafficking ring and arrested a foreign national. A Nigerian woman was taken into custody after authorities seized a commercial quantity of cocaine valued at nearly 29 lakh rupees. The suspect in that operation was identified as Imunnal Joy, who had traveled to India from Nigeria on a business visa, prompting investigators to trace connections stretching across Mumbai and Indore.
Recovery And Accused Background
During the search operation conducted in the Indore case, police inspectors recovered a transparent pouch from the suspect baggage containing 57.18 grams of high-grade cocaine. Officials estimated the street value of the confiscated contraband at approximately 29 lakh rupees. Police records indicated that Imunnal Joy is a native of Lagos in Nigeria and was residing in Bandra East, Mumbai, prior to her apprehension.
Visa Details And Illicit Operations
Further inquiries into the Indore operation revealed that the accused woman entered India on August 14, 2026, on a seven-month business visa. While staying in Mumbai, she reportedly worked at a hair salon alongside her sister as a cover. During subsequent questioning, the suspect allegedly admitted to procuring inexpensive cocaine shipments and reselling them at exorbitant prices in Indore to generate massive illegal profits.
