The survivor has bravely recounted the horrifying sequence of events before the police and the court, describing how three predators subjected her to a barbaric assault. According to her statement, she had visited the Kalkaji Temple on her birthday to offer prayers. After exiting the temple premises, she sat down in a nearby park with her friend. Suddenly, three men approached them and falsely claimed to be police personnel. They separated her friend and seized both of their mobile phones. The victim stated that the attackers used a gun and a knife to herd her into a secluded area, where all three took turns raping her. Following the crime, the perpetrators threatened them both and warned them against telling anyone. Once the ordeal ended, the victim confided in her friend, who immediately dialed the police via a PCR call.
The Journey to the Temple on a Birthday
The victim's comprehensive statement outlines how her birthday celebrations turned into a nightmare. She explained that she wanted to visit the Kalkaji Temple to offer prayers, prompting her to ask her friend to accompany her there. Noting her family's background, she mentioned that her mother works as a cook and was away at work at the time, which led her to inform her elder sister about her plans. Setting out from home around 5 PM via an auto, they reached the Kalkaji Temple at approximately 5:45 PM. They spent about two hours inside the temple offering prayers before stepping outside. Outside the Kalkaji Metro Station, they purchased chips and a water bottle, and then entered the park through Gate Number 7.
How the Confrontation Began Inside the Park
The victim stated that she also wished to visit the ISKON Temple, telling her friend they would eat chips in the park first before heading to the next shrine. As soon as they sat on a bench inside the park and opened the packet of chips, three young men aged between 30 and 35 approached them. They immediately grabbed her friend and slapped him. When the duo questioned their identity, the men claimed to be police officers and demanded to know why they were sitting there, asserting that entry was prohibited. One of the men dragged her friend Sameer to a different spot and confiscated their mobile phones. Two of the men then pointed toward some bushes and ordered her to follow them. Overwhelmed with fear, she pleaded with them to ask their questions right there and even offered to let them speak to her mother.
Weapon Threats and the Secluded Attack
Ignoring her pleas, one of the men instructed his associate to draw a gun. The man referred to as Asif wore a purple shirt and possessed the strongest build among the three. Asif pulled out a black handgun before returning it to his pocket a moment later. The other two men then drew knives and forced her into a dark and secluded spot. Asif stripped off her clothes and forced her onto a red bench. He instructed another man named Hemu to keep watch and ensure no one approached. Holding a knife to her neck, Asif forced himself upon her while she wept in severe pain. After finishing, he discarded the used contraceptive near the bench and told Hemu to take over while he went toward Dipu.
The Escalation of the Assault and Police Intervention
Hemu then dragged her to a nearby bench, where he also held a knife to her neck and assaulted her. A third man, whom the others referred to as Dipu, then arrived, held a knife to her throat, and forced himself upon her as well before discharging semen onto the soil near the bench. The attackers quickly told her to get dressed, handing back her T-shirt and jeans but withholding her bra. After she dressed, they brought Sameer back, returned their phones, and threatened them with death if they did not leave immediately or if they spoke to anyone about the incident. Once led out of the park, the victim informed Sameer of the entire tragedy, leading him to dial the PCR. Police arrived at the location shortly afterward.
