Security has been tightened significantly around gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who has reportedly been shifted to a high-security block inside the Sabarmati Central Jail in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Known as the 'do sau kholi' block, this high-security enclosure typically houses around 200 dangerous inmates, including those accused of terrorism and other grave offenses. To restrict prisoner movement and maintain strict order, the facility is divided into four separate sections, with roughly 50 inmates housed in each zone. Reports indicate that Bishnoi is confined to a cell measuring approximately 7.5 by 11 feet. This relocation is viewed as part of an intensified security strategy aimed at keeping tight control over his movements and communications.
Strict Surveillance and Limited Outside Contact Inside Prison
According to investigative agencies, Bishnoi was previously known to allegedly orchestrate extortion calls and release threatening audio and video messages while lodged in various prisons years ago. His media interviews from behind bars also drew widespread attention. However, investigation sources claim that no direct phone calls or communications originating from him have been detected over the past two years. Currently, he faces round-the-clock monitoring inside Sabarmati Jail. His interactions with the outside world are strictly curtailed, primarily limited to court hearings conducted via video conferencing and discussions concerning legal strategy with his defense counsel.
Inside the Sabarmati Jail High Security Enclosure
The 'do sau kholi' block is designated as one of the most heavily guarded zones within the Sabarmati Central Jail, built to accommodate about 200 high-risk prisoners. The block's layout is compartmentalized into four distinct sections to prevent interaction between rival or high-profile groups. Prior to this transfer, Bishnoi was reportedly kept in a smaller high-security section called 'dus kholi', which has a capacity of about 10 inmates. Before his time in Gujarat, he had been held in various high-profile correctional facilities, including Tihar Jail in Delhi and multiple prisons across Punjab.
Daily Routine and Solitary Confinement Behind Bars
Reports detailing his incarceration indicate that Bishnoi spends much of his time isolated within his cell, focusing on daily rituals. Sources suggest that he practices meditation and recites the Hanuman Chalisa every morning. Furthermore, accounts suggest that he observes regular fasts and maintains a strict vegetarian diet. Prison authorities remain focused on minimizing his exposure and cutting off any potential communication channels with the outside environment.
Syndicate Operations Despite Imprisonment
Investigative findings suggest that despite Bishnoi remaining behind bars, his syndicate continues to operate through associates stationed abroad. Key syndicate members operating from safe havens in foreign countries reportedly manage day-to-day operations, including recruitment, task delegation, financial logistics, and target selection. Figures such as Goldy Brar and Rohit Godara have frequently been linked to this sprawling network. However, the exact nature of the ongoing connection between these external operatives and Bishnoi remains a subject requiring definitive confirmation from law enforcement agencies.
