Law enforcement agencies have uncovered a major breakthrough in the harrowing attack on Bollywood action star Tiger Sharan. In this high-profile case, 22-year-old Pranjal Thukral has been arrested from Indore in Madhya Pradesh as the 11th accused. The involvement of a young individual with an engineering background in serious crimes has shocked observers. While Gen Z youth typically gravitate toward tech startups and corporate roles, Thukral chose a vastly different and illicit path.
Choosing Crime Despite Technical Education
Despite possessing technical qualifications through an engineering diploma, he opted for a life of crime. Police investigations revealed that he was released on bail only in March, having previously been imprisoned for an assault on a businessman in Panipat. Rather than reforming after his release, he teamed up with Anil Pandit, a mastermind of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, to orchestrate the dangerous plot against Tiger Sharan.
Operations Run From America Using Secret Apps
According to investigative agencies, Anil Pandit is the primary mastermind running the Lawrence Bishnoi syndicate from the United States. Pranjal Thukral served as a key operative in this conspiracy, handling fund accumulation, logistics, and the delivery of weapons to shooters. To evade law enforcement, these operatives communicated exclusively through highly secure and confidential messaging applications. The crime branch is currently analyzing deleted chats and financial transactions from Thukral's phone to dismantle the international network.
The Sequence of Events in the Firing Incident
The incident unfolded on the evening of October 18, as Tiger Sharan was leaving in his car after playing football at Pushpa Narsee Park in Juhu. Armed attackers lying in wait opened rapid gunfire on his vehicle. Fortunately, no major casualties occurred during the attempt on his life. Following the shooting, the assailants abandoned their motorcycle and boarded the Pune-Jaipur Express via Surat. However, due to police vigilance, all three shooters were nabbed in Kota, Rajasthan, while attempting to flee to Nepal via Delhi. Police sources also indicate that the gang's original target was a different VIP, but heavy security prompted them to shift their target to Tiger Sharan. Thukral remains in police custody until October 31 as the crime branch continues its interrogation.
