Panic gripped a railway station in Dausa when a middle-aged woman, overwhelmed by domestic discord, attempted to end her life by jumping onto the tracks. Thanks to the prompt intervention of the railway protection personnel on duty, a major tragedy was averted and the woman was safely pulled away from danger.
According to available details, the 47-year-old resident of Deshwali Mohalla in Dausa had been battling severe emotional distress and family disputes for a prolonged period. Driven by this deep anxiety, she walked up to platform number one of the Dausa railway station. Reports indicate she quietly seated herself on the platform and waited for approximately 1 hour and 34 minutes, keeping a close watch on the tracks and incoming rail traffic.
Following her long wait of nearly an hour and a half, an electric traction vehicle deployed for overhead wire maintenance and technical tasks passed through the station. As the carriage drew near the platform, the woman suddenly plunged toward the tracks. She was about to land directly in front of the heavy, high-voltage maintenance train to end her life when the security personnel stationed nearby spotted her in the nick of time.
Sub-Inspector Udayveer Singh Intervenes
Just moments before she could leap into the path of the oncoming carriage, RPF Sub-Inspector Udayveer Singh and his team noticed her erratic behavior and acted with remarkable speed. Without a second thought for his own safety, Sub-Inspector Udayveer Singh sprinted across the platform, grabbed the woman, and hauled her back to safety. This swift maneuver by the security team prevented a fatal outcome within seconds.
Counseling and Safe Handover to Family
Following the rescue, the woman was escorted safely to the RPF outpost, where she was offered water and calmed down. During questioning, she revealed that domestic strife had pushed her to take the extreme step. The RPF promptly contacted her relatives residing in Deshwali Mohalla and summoned them to the station. Upon the family's arrival, they were briefed on the entire situation and advised to provide proper care and emotional support before the woman was sent home securely.
