Work is currently progressing rapidly on a new four-lane highway stretching from Shobhan Chowk in Darbhanga, located along National Highway 27, to Makia and Agaropatti Chowk in the Benipatti subdivision of Madhubani along State Highway 52. To drive this ambitious undertaking, the Bihar government has granted administrative approval of 216.23 crore rupees, establishing a robust foundation for comprehensive regional growth.

Spanning a total length of 40 kilometers, this four-lane highway is designed to serve as more than just a transit route, acting instead as a powerful economic corridor for the entire region. The alignment originates at Shobhan Chowk in Darbhanga and proceeds through Gagoul, Kaligaon, Sotiya, Belwara, and the historical site of Gautamkund before terminating at Agaropatti in Makia. This layout directly connects dozens of rural settlements along the path to the main transit artery, bridging the gap between remote villages and major hubs.

The completion of this highway will empower local farmers to transport their harvests to markets efficiently while unlocking fresh commercial prospects for small business owners. Crucially, the project delivers seamless connectivity to the upcoming Darbhanga AIIMS and the Darbhanga Airport.
