A major relief has arrived for music lovers as Delhi Police has officially cleared the much-awaited concert of global Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh in the capital. The high-profile show, slated for October 30, had earlier hit a roadblock when authorities withheld permission citing security apprehensions and threat communications. However, following discussions between the organizers and law enforcement, the decision was revised, paving the way for the event to proceed smoothly.
Singer Reacts With Humor on Social Media
Following the clearance, Diljit Dosanjh took to Instagram to share a witty video reel addressing the recent developments. In his trademark lighthearted style, he remarked on how pleasant the day felt and how positive the overall energy was surrounding the event. He humorously noted that if all the ongoing debates, reels, and tweets regarding his show had finally settled down, everyone should meet at the venue on October 30. He also offered a piece of advice, suggesting that people should thoroughly read and verify complete news before jumping to any conclusions.

Festive Season Rush and Security Concerns Led to Delay
Earlier on Thursday, Delhi Police had declined to grant permission for the event scheduled at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. Authorities explained that the decision was initially taken keeping in view crowd management challenges and security protocols during the peak festive season. Furthermore, on October 15, several prominent schools in Delhi received hoax bomb threat emails that specifically warned against attending the October 30 concert, accompanied by separatist slogans. However, after a comprehensive review of all security angles, the police ultimately cleared the event.
Political Reactions Surround the Clearance Controversy
The temporary halt on the concert permissions also triggered political friction in the capital. Aam Aadmi Party leader Saurabh Bharadwaj launched a sharp critique against the administration and Delhi Police, alleging that the government was discriminating against Punjabi artists because of Diljit Dosanjh's past support for the farmers' protest. Meanwhile, event organizers BookMyShow Live issued a formal clarification stating that the concert was never canceled and that the permission was only put on hold temporarily.
